I was forced to hold off on some of the projects I’ve been meaning to do regarding photography and other media due to a lack of certain essential equipment. One aspect of that was determining what sort of external microphone to use. Ease-of-use, quality of output, and compatibility with Linux were the primary factors for consideration. Finally I decided on the Blue Snowball USB microphone.
Spent some time testing it out today and it seems like it will be just what I need.
